By submitting an application or interacting with our platform, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Full name, phone number, email address, and mailing address
  • Resume, work history, and responses to screening questions
  • AI screening call recordings — retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted
  • SMS message logs — retained for 1 year
  • Consent records — retained for 5 years to satisfy legal recordkeeping requirements
  • IP address and device information collected at time of application
  • Employment eligibility and availability information you voluntarily provide

How We Use Your Data

We use your information solely for the following purposes:

  • To process your employment application on behalf of the hiring employer
  • To conduct AI-assisted phone screening interviews
  • To schedule interviews and communicate application status updates
  • To comply with legal obligations including FCRA, EEOC, and state recordkeeping rules
  • To detect fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms of service
  • To improve platform performance and screening accuracy

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

FCRA Rights

Zelvar may operate as a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) when our AI screening results are used by employers in making hiring decisions. If adverse action is taken based on information we provide, you have the right to:

  • Receive a copy of any consumer report used in the decision
  • Be informed of the name and contact information of the consumer reporting agency
  • Dispute inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information in your report
  • Request human review of any automated screening decision
  • Have inaccurate information corrected within 30 days of a valid dispute

CCPA Rights (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Right to know — what categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect

  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you
  • Right to opt out — we do not sell personal data, so no opt-out is required for sales

AI Voice Calls

Our AI agent may contact you by phone to conduct a structured screening interview on behalf of a hiring employer. The AI agent will identify itself as an AI at the start of every call.

  • Calls are AI-conducted — you are not speaking with a human unless explicitly stated
  • Calls may be recorded with your consent, captured during application intake
  • Recordings are retained for 90 days and then permanently deleted
  • You may decline to continue any call at any time by saying "stop" or hanging up
  • Opting out of calls does not affect your application unless the employer requires screening

SMS Communications

By providing your mobile phone number, you may receive automated text messages related to your application, interview scheduling, and status updates.

  • Message frequency varies based on application activity
  • Standard message and data rates may apply
  • Reply STOP at any time to opt out — you will receive one final confirmation message
  • Reply HELP for assistance or contact [email protected]
  • Opting out of SMS does not withdraw your application

Sub-Processors

We share data only with the following vendors, strictly as necessary to operate our service. All sub-processors are contractually bound to protect your information.
